The best repair
is the one you
don't have to sell.
Mike and Alex met on a dealership service floor in the northwest suburbs in the early 2010s. The work was good, the tools were good, and the pressure was relentless — a daily target, a menu of "recommended" services, and a manager who wanted to know why a car left with only the job it came in for.
Neither of them lasted. What they took away was a clear picture of where the money in this trade actually goes: not into the repair, but into the building around it. A six-bay unit, a waiting room, a service advisor on commission — all of it lands on your invoice as an hourly rate north of $180.
In 2026 they bought two vans, fitted them out properly, and started turning up at people's houses instead. The overhead disappeared, the prices came down, and something unexpected happened: without a sales target, the conversation about what a car needs gets a lot shorter and a lot more honest.
Every price we charge is published on this site. Every worn part we pull off gets photographed. And when your car doesn't need the thing you asked about, we say so — which costs us a sale roughly once a week and has never once cost us a customer.
What we believe.
Every service we offer has its price on this website — a starting price with parts, and a starting price for labour alone if you'd rather supply them. Not "call for a quote", not a range that lands at the top end once your car is in bits. You see both numbers before you book, and you approve the exact ones before we start.
Pad thickness gets measured with a gauge. Rotor runout gets a dial indicator. Battery health gets a conductance tester. Every worn part comes off, gets photographed next to the measurement, and is shown to you before it goes in the bin.
If your brake fluid tests clean, you don't need a flush. If your rotors measure fine, you're paying for pads only. And if a job genuinely needs a lift, we'll tell you that and point you at a shop we'd use ourselves rather than attempt it badly in your driveway.
The hidden cost of a shop visit is the half-day you spend on it. Booking online takes a minute, we come to where the car already is, and for most jobs you never stop what you were doing.
Who turns up.
Fifteen years on dealership and independent floors, ASE-certified in Engine Repair, Brakes and Electrical Systems. Diagnostics is the part he actually enjoys — the harder the intermittent fault, the happier he is. If your car has a warning light nobody else could pin down, this is the van you want.
ASE-certified in Brakes and Suspension & Steering, and the reason the scheduling actually works. Handles the brake and suspension side, the parts ordering, and the fleet accounts. Also the one who insists every hub face gets wire-brushed before a rotor goes on, which is why our brake jobs don't judder.
The paperwork.
Fair questions.
